FALL - Wolf Research Paper (3-? pages long with artwork)
Our major theme for this year is learning about the WOLF! Besides going to see some real wolves and exploring their behavior through a wolf kit from the Department of Natural Resources (DNR), we will read about them.

We will do all the article reading and note taking for this project in school You will learn to take notes, form sentences, topic sentences, and write paragraphs. You will also learn a lot about wolf characteristics and behavior through field trips, learning stations, films, and games. This is the biggest project of the year. The projected completion date is December. make it a hoooooowling success! We will also d a theatre production of The True Story of the Three Little Pigs for our families at the Candlelight Cafe' in January. The date for the Cafe' is tentatively Thursday, January 22 at 11:30.

WINTER - The Ten-Hour Learning Project
Back by popular demand! you will spend ten hours minimum learning how to do something that has always interested you. This project will be completed outside of school. Then you will present what you have learned in a 2-3 page paper, a visual representation of what you have learned, and a five minute presentation to the class showing what you have learned. Now you have a reason to take those skydiving lessons you've always wanted. The projected date for completion is March before spring break. More details later!

SPRING - Create a State of Minnesota Project
This year in social studies we will study Minnesota in the Northern Lights Curriculum. You will choose what topic you would like to learn about more deeply and share it with the class. Project due date is early May. More info later.
