|  | | Heather Bivans, Media Coordinator | | Hello everyone. I am now starting my second year at Barton Open School and I am very excited, after having such a wonderful first year. I moved up from North Carolina so that my husband could attend the University of Minnesota in the History Department. I was a Media Coordinator at Pactolus School in Greenville, NC, which is also a K-8 school.
I attended both North Carolina Central University and East Carolina University simultaneously, in order to attain a Masters Degree in Library Science plus extra certification, which would allow me to work in both a Public Library or School Library. I wanted to make sure I would always be able to work in a children's library, whether it be in a school or in the children's section of a public library.
Even as an adult, I still love children's books and always have a stack of them in my house. I want to make sure students enjoy their library time so much that they always look forward to their next visit.
