220 Newsletter -- 5/16/08

The class completed their Jane Gibb's timelines.  These are posted outside of the classroom.

The class has been working on probability.

220 has been reading their lit circle books and writing book reviews.  Please start saving shoe boxes for lit circle dioramas!!

Today was school spirit day.  It was classroom choice on how to show school spirit.  220 choose face painting.

Next Friday 220 class will be performing an African Dance with the 5th and 6th graders as part of the 7:30 AM all school morning meeting.

The camping trip is Tuesday, May 27 and Wednesday, May 28.  Monday is Memorial Day and there is no school.   Please remember to send your campers with their camping gear on Tuesday morning.

On May 30th the class is going to the Ordway to see a drumming performance.

On Sunday, June 8th there will be a portfolio picnic at Anabel's house (2920 W 42nd St.  This will take the place of the early morning school day portfolio sharing.  A flyer will be coming home soon.

The last field trip of the school year is Tuesday, June 10.  The class will take an all day trip to Gibbs Farm.

Wednesday, June 11 is the last day of school!
















220 Newsletter - 4/18/08


Another busy week in 220 ---

Math MCA testing was this week on Tuesday and Wednesday. 

For specialist, 220 has been in art studying Georgia O'Keefe and working on paintings inspired by her art.

Fatawe, a guest artist from Ghana, visited this week.  He is teaching the kids african dancing.  He'll be back next week.

The class has been reading Jane Gibbs, Little Bird That Was Caught.

There was no spelling this week.


Next week --

220 will take the reading MCA tests on Tuesday and Wednesday.  Be sure to get lots of sleep. 

There will be a spelling test.

On Friday, everyone will enjoy a roller skating field trip.   Kids can bring their own skates if they like.
